July 3, 2014 Non-Eq Tour
Steven Grant Douglas, Katie Postotnik, Carla R. Stewart, Robby Haltiwanger, Fernando Contreras, Brandon Curry, Evette Marie White, Lydia Warr, Hana Freeman, Shannan E. Johnson. A great capture of the tour. Carla is the standout here; she steals the show with great comedic timing. The rest of the cast is strong, and it’s nice to see the show come to life with a little different take on each role. The show has no washout, no obstruction, and very steady filming. There are three blackouts in act one: 1 minute just after Here Right Now, 1.5 minutes during the scene after You Gotta Let Go, and 1 minute during I Had A Life. Act two has no blackouts. As usual, it’s filmed in 16:9 with a mix of wides, mediums, and close-ups, and the sound is excellent. Includes curtain call and playbill scans.

There is one head that obstructs a small portion of the front of the stage, but it never blocks more than the actors’ feet and it’s rarely noticeable overall. Into the Woods Reunion Concert - November 9, 2014 ~ Costa Mesa, CA
Stephen Sondheim,James Lapine,Bernadette Peters,Joanna Gleason,Chip Zien,Robert Westenberg,Kim Crosby,Danielle Ferland,Ben Wright, moderated by Mo Rocca A great capture of this historic reunion in Costa Mesa. The cast and creative team sits down to talk about their experiences and what they’re doing now, as well as perform songs from the show. The reminiscing includes discussions of the Wolf’s pendulous anatomy, cut scenes/songs, backstage secrets, and a potential sequel. This is perfectly captured from start to finish with no blackouts, no obstruction, and no washout. It’s filmed in 16:9, with a mix of wides, mediums, and close-ups. The sound is excellent. Includes curtain call and playbill scans.

A perfect capture of this production by Cabrillo Music Theatre. It’s great to see this show done regionally, and interesting to see a new cast’s take on each role. Lano makes a great Usnavi. Ayme was my favorite of the bunch; she’s got a nice strong belt and her rendition of Breath is fantastic. The show is captured very well from start to finish, with no washout, no obstruction, and no blackouts. There are a couple scenes that are a bit dark - particularly The Club - but everything can still be seen. The video is steady, and the sound is excellent as usual. It’s filmed in 16:9 with a mix of wides, mediums, and close-ups. Includes curtain call.

December 29, 2014 Broadway
James Wicker: Nathan Lane Peter Austin: Matthew Broderick Julie Budder: Megan Mullally Virginia Noyes: Stockard Channing Frank Finger: Rupert Grint Ira Drew: F Murray Abraham Gus P Head: Micah Stock A good capture of the play’s original cast. The play is absolutely hysterical — Nathan, Megan, and Micah being particularly fantastic. This capture has no washout and only minor obstruction, but most of the first 26 minutes of Act One are blacked out. After that, the show is very nicely captured with just one head that can occasionally be seen at the bottom of the screen and does not affect the action. It’s filmed in 16:9, with a mix of wides, mediums, and close-ups. The sound is very good overall, but there is more shuffling and static than usual; all of the dialogue is listenable. Includes playbill scans.

Sierra Boggess, Tyne Daly, Harriet Harris, Lisa Howard, David Burtka, Montego Glover, Josh Girsetti, Adam Heller, Edward Hibbert, Michael X. Martin, Anne L. Nathan, Nick Spangler, Chip Zien. Brilliant capture of the hysterical new musical. Sierra is brilliant, Tyne and Harriet are fantastic - and Lisa steals the show. Great humor in the show. A head on the left side of the stage is shot around nicely, but it is present when action is over near it. A

Jacques Brel Is Alive and Well and Living in Paris – November 2014 London
A video of the recent London production of the revue. Brel's music is lovely, the translations very well done, and the cast stellar. It was great to finally see Gina Beck live, and she gets some lovely songs to sing, from ones reminiscent to the roles she's played before, to a proper rockstar number. Daniel Boys and David Burt are also excellent as always, and Eve Polycarpou amazes me more with her voice every time I see her. The video is shot from the back of the theatre with a great view of the stage. The show's light design (specifically, no spotlights on the performers) made it a bit more difficult to film, but it's still a very good video, following the action well throughout the show. A+

Brand-new production before it heads to Broadway later in the year. Visually it's very different from previous productions, and manages to make scenes like "Confrontation" less awkward. There are some weird accents, not sure what is up with that. Full show including curtain call, filmed mostly with medium shots. There are 2 blackouts a few second long near the start due to late seating, but other than that it is completely unobstructed. Some very slight shakiness/wandering between scenes but mostly a very steady shot and well-filmed.

Note: Funny and charming show with great vocals from the 2nd National Tour. Complete show, including curtain calls and BCEFA speech. There is slight shakiness in between scenes but generally very steady and clear. The only thing that irks me is how the camera picked up all the stage markings, but otherwise, great show

BEAUTIFUL HD Capture of the current cast featuring new cast members Keith Hines (Nick Massi), Drew Seeley (Bob Gaudio), along with a few other members. Missing the first Minute and a half (Ces Soirees-La). Master had to work around a mezzanine bar which is barely an issue. Some washout but isn't much of an issue either. Picture turns pixelated once or twice for a very short amount of time when camera is focused on colored screen in background. Wonderful capture of an OUTSTANDING cast. The best this tour has probably seen. Capture includes Encore.

Ted Neeley, Corey Glover, Tiffini Dodson, Jeremey Pasha, Craig Sculli, Larry Alan Coke, Aaron Fuksa. Very nice production, done in the original style, not the horrible revivalstyle. Despite his age, Ted gave a fabulous performance as Jesus. Best JCS out there, wonderful picture and sound

Hibbert), Kieran Campion (German Soldier), John Curless (Captain Hardy/Sergeant Major), Richard Poe (Colonel). This is a very dark show (not the camera, the show itself is really dark) so the camera sometimes has trouble focusing. The sound, however, is perfect so you can follow the action even when you can't see it completely. some scenes also do take place in the complete dark, so you're not missing anything, the darkness is intentional. Letters from Zora : In Her Own Words - May 10, 2014 mat
Zora Neale Hurston: Vanessa Bell Calloway
Note: A near perfect capture of this charming one-woman show at Pasadena Playhouse. Vanessa embodies the unsung literary hero with a performance full of spirit, humor, inspiration, and heartbreak. A fantastic capture overall, with just a couple quick dropouts in the first ten minutes. There is no obstruction, no washout, the video is steady, and the sound is excellent. It’s filmed with mostly close-ups and mediums, with an occasional wide shot to capture the pictures on screen. It’s filmed in 16:9 and includes curtain call and playbill scans. The show is 81 minutes on one disc with no intermission.

The sets/props are minimal but inventive, and the music is very catchy. The cast is very fun to watch -- they do a great job of switching between characters and supporting each other. A very nice capture overall. There is a railing that can occasionally be seen at the bottom of the screen, but it never blocks more than the actors’ feet. The video occasionally wanders just a little, and there are a couple quick dropouts, but no major blackouts. It’s filmed in 16:9, with a mix of wides, mediums, and close-ups. The sound is excellent. The show is 60 minutes with no intermission. Includes playbill scans. A

Lion King - November 16, 1997 - Broadway
Cast: Heather Headley, Jason Raize, Kevin Cahoon, John Vickery, Samuel E. Wright. Filmed two nights after the show opened. Shot from the left box seat, making the angles extreme and blocking the upper stage right corner. The clarity of a video this old is quite impressive.Perfect sound. Some spotlight washout, but lots of close ups.

Brown Lindiwe Mkhize, Shaun Escoffery, Natasha Jayetileke, Stephen Matthews, George Aspery, Allyson Addo, Gary Forbes, Mark Sangster. The first hour of Act 1 with no blackouts and action well followed. The only obstruction there is a head of a child which was getting fidgety towards the end so at times it gets in the shot but other than that no real problems and I believe that if I had more life in my battery it would have turned out to be the best Lion King video out there because it's beautifully captured in 16:9 wide-screen.

Tshidi Manye (Rafiki) Tryphena Wade (Sarabi) Drew Hirshfield (Zazu) Vusi Sondiyazi (U/S Mufasa) Micheal Hollick (U/S Scar) Thembelihle Cele (U/S Nala). Very Nice Capture, with a little bit of blockout every now and again. The First 5 to 8 mins are shaky due to needing to adjust to seat and hide camera while filming. However through out it is a pretty good video. The Cast was great, an amazing preference. The video is only Full Act 1 and runs until about 35 mins of act 2. My camera battery died.

Ellen and Jake were perfection and this was the 2015 show that was not to be missed!

There are a couple quick dropouts during the prologue and What If?, and the first half of act one is a bit shaky, but it’s much better as the show goes on. There is one head that obstructs a small portion of the front of the stage, but it never blocks more than the actors’ feet and it’s rarely noticeable overall. There is no washout, and the sound is excellent as usual. It’s filmed in 16:9 with a mix of wides, mediums, and close-ups. Includes curtain call and playbill scans.

Note: Act 1 is mostly complete minus a few black outs, cover ups due to late comers, it's quite shakey at the start while trying to focus in on the zoom. A few heads in the way but shot around them very well. If you have the Jackie Burns u/s DVD it's exactly the same quality only more of the show. First act is 1 hour 15+ minutes and Second Act minus "Hey Kid" is little over an hour. Excellent Audio.

Jesus Christ Superstar – January 13, 2007 - Milwaukee, WI
Ted Neeley, Corey Glover, Tiffini Dodson, Jeremey Pasha, Craig Sculli, Larry Alan Coke, Aaron Fuksa. Very nice production, done in the original style, not the horrible revivalstyle. Despite his age, Ted gave a fabulous performance as Jesus. Best JCS out there, wonderful picture and sound
Jesus Christ Superstar - February 2014 – Bonn
Mark Seibert (Jesus), David Jacobs (Judas), Patricia Meeden (Maria Magdalena)
Journey's End - February 10, 2007 – Broadway
Cast: Hugh Dancy (Captain Dennis Stanhope), Stark Sands (2nd Lt. Jimmy Raleigh), Boyd Gaines (Lieutenant Osborne), Jefferson Mays (Private Mason), John Ahlin (2nd Lt. Trotter), Nick Berg Barnes (Lance Corporal Broughton), John Behlmann (Private Albert Brown), Justin Blanchard (2nd Lt. Colm Wilkinson performance; Highlights, runs an hour 45 minutes and 34 seconds. Really big video. It's 16.8 gigs. Highlights; includes the Bring Him Home Encore featuring Colm Wilkinson. No zooms, camera is steady but they're constantly fiddling with it or something so you get to hear that through out the video, then it sounds like they're blowing their nose or something like that every 5 seconds through out the video, but its worth the watch.

Nice capture of the Trevor Nunn production before it came to Broadway. I prefer this Desiree over Catherine Zeta-Jones's. Filmed from the orchestra, though with a clear view and few obstructions.

Note: Because of latecomers and people moving constantly, "Now, Later, Soon" and a scene in Act Two are taken from the 5/4/10 performance, the beginning of "Liaisons" is from a few days earlier as is the last minute of Act One. They are all spliced very well together to make the best dvd possible with no cast changes whatsoever. A

Patti Cohenour, Erin Mackey, David Burnham, Perry Ojeda, Melina Kalomas, Christopher Newell, Mary Gutzi, Martin Kildare, John-David Keller, Joseph Almohaya, Julie Garnye, Madison Mitchell, Louis Pardo. A few quick dropouts in the first few minutes, but nothing major; one head on the very far bottom right but rarely noticeable; no spotlight washout; filmed in 16:9 with a mix of wides, mediums, and close-ups; excellent sound and includes curtain call.
Lightning Thief - August 20, 2014 Off-Broadway
Percy Jackson: Eric Meyers, Grover: Jordan Stanley, Annabeth: Kristin Stokes, Mr Brunner/Chiron/Poseidon/Hades: Graham Stevens, Sally/Clarisse/Thalia/Mrs Dodds: Zakiya Young, Luke/Ares/Mr D/Charon/Gabe: Parker Drown A great capture of this fun and energetic show during it’s Off-Broadway run.
